Soma is an ancient intoxicating drink frequently mentioned in the Hindu Rig Vedas. Prepared from a mysterious plant and used in Vedic ritual, it was believed to be the ambrosia of the gods and granted immortality. It has been suggested that Soma may have been hallucinogenic mushrooms. Soma literally means "body" in Sanskrit and unites the holy trinity of mind, body, and spirit.

Theia is mainly depicted as a goddess of sight. She is the mother of the Moon, the Sun, and Dawn. She was also the goddess that gave gold, silver, and other gems their sparkle or brightness. That is why she sometimes was said to be a glittering goddess as well.

The Egyptian goddess, protector of the household, bringer of health. She is known as the Lady of the East, the Goddess of the Rising Sun. Bast is widely known today as the "Cat Goddess", protector of domestic affairs, and as a goddess who protected mothers and their newborn children. In Egyptian magical texts, a woman suffering from infertility might make an offering to Bast in hopes that this would help her conceive.

The heroine Joan of Arc, was a peasant girl born in eastern France who claimed divine guidance and visions from God instructed her to recover her homeland from English domination She said the voices commanded her to aid the Dauphin, Charles, in his fight against England and Burgundy, and to see him crowned as the King of France. She was the tender age of 16 when she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years' War. She was eventually captured, brutally tortured and interrogated over many months, tried by an ecclesiastical court, and burned at the stake when she was 19 years old.

The Fool is the first card (the wild card) of the Major Arcana in the Tarot. It portrays a wild, optimistic youth setting about his journey. He is innocent and has an eagerness and freshness about him. He wears horns on his head and skins symbolizing his animalistic, instinctual drives. His outlook is free of preconceptions. The white dog warns him that he is about to step over the cliff, but the Fool trusts in life and maintains an absence of fear. He represents the curious and exuberant childish aspect in all of us.
