"Epona" ~ A print of the original painting by Emily Balivet, 2013.
The Celtic Goddess, Epona, draped in red stands between two horses in a vast landscape. Her name means "Divine mare" in Gaulish. The mare was an ancient symbol of fertility, this has lead to suggestions that she was an early Mother Goddess figure, whose role was later reduced to protector of horses.
Printed on matte Kodak Endura paper, the print measures 16x20 with a .5" white border allowance. The print is signed and dated on the front and ships flat.
